Ford Technology: Hands-free Power Liftgate

Ford hands Free Liftgate

This feature allows owners to conveniently open and close the liftgate when their hands are full, without touching it.

HOW TO SET
  • There’s nothing special to set or configure. Just easy to use
HOW TO OPERATE
  • Have the Intelligent Access key within a 3-foot range of the liftgate, like in a pocket or purse
  • Raise and lower your leg, moving your foot toward and under, then away from the rear bumper (similar to a kicking motion). Sensors detect a kicking motion.
  • Liftgate opens or closes
  • Upon activation, a chime sounds and the taillamps flash to provide awareness of the liftgate opening and indication that it’s time to step back
ADDITIONAL NOTES
  • The sensors are located (between the tailpipes).
  • Vehicles with a Trailer Tow Package operate a little differently – whereby you do the foot movement to either side of the hitch instead of directly underneath.
